For those of you who remember Star Trek, the Original Series, Kirk and three others were transported into a parallel universe, where a barbaric empire ruled. It was a sci-fi version of the Tea Party vs. Occupy Anarchy. Viewing the vandalism, sexual assaults, riots and acts of violence and disrespect of the Occupy movement, I thought of that parallel universe.

"It was far easier for you as civilized men to behave like barbarians than it was for them as barbarians to behave like civilized men."

It will be difficult for the occupiers to behave like civilized men.

Obama Claims to be "Underdog" in 2012

The "U" is for "unemployment".

Calling himself an "underdog," President Obama today said the faltering economy is a drag on his presidency and seriously impairing his chances of winning again in 2012.

"Absolutely," he said in response to a question from ABC News' George Stephanopoulos about whether the odds were against him come November 2012, given the economy. "I'm used to being the underdog. But at the end of the day people are going to ask -- who's got a vision?"

Do you really get to claim "underdog" status if you're the incumbent? I mean, if you screw the pooch so badly that no one wants to re-elect you, that's not an "underdog", that's a "throw the bum out"! At the "end of the day", people are going to ask if they are better off than they were four years ago. Their "vision" will be of sending Barry and Michelle back to Chicago.
